First-flush, shade-grown, stone-ground ceremonial matcha. We don't sell caffeine. We sell ninety seconds of quiet.
We don't sell caffeine.
We sell ninety seconds of quiet.
A bowl of ASAGIRI is a small, deliberate pause, leaf grown slow in the shade, ground slower on stone, whisked into a moment that belongs only to you.
Wazuka · Kyoto · first flushFor the last twenty-one days before harvest, our tea is hidden from the sun. Starved of light, the leaf floods itself with chlorophyll and L-theanine, the source of matcha's deep jade colour and its calm, even lift.
We take only the first flush: the youngest, softest leaves of spring, hand-gathered from terraced hills above Wazuka.
Granite mill · 30g per hourEach leaf is de-veined, de-stemmed and slow-dried into tencha, then ground between two granite wheels turning barely faster than a clock's hand. Push the stone and you scorch the powder; we let it take its time.
What falls is impossibly fine: a powder you feel rather than see, vivid and weightless.

Press through a fine mesh so it dissolves without a single clump.

Water just off the boil, 70°C, poured down the side of the bowl.

Quick wrist, never circular, until a fine jade froth rises and holds.

Two hands around the bowl. No phone. Ninety seconds that are only yours.

The first flush, whisked with water alone. Vivid, sweet, no bitterness. The bowl this whole ritual is for.

A second-flush blend built for the morning cup, clean and bright in water, steady in milk. Your everyday quiet.

Robust enough to hold its colour and character through heat, for lattes, baking and ice cream that taste of real tea.

First light, whisked.
